First in Home offers mailing and fulfillment services that will meet the needs of your next direct mail campaign.  We offer both traditional Letter Shop and On-Demand Digital fulfillment. Traditional Letter Shop is used for pre-printed, mass offers requiring minimal personalization. On Demand Digital fulfillment is used for more dynamic personalization, short runs and split stream A/B testing.

Letter Shop

Preparing The Mail Piece: Some mail pieces will require more prep work than others to optimize recipient experience and take advantage of bulk mail postage discounts. That work might include scoring, folding, tabbing, insertion, stamping and other things.

Addressing:  All mail must be addressed appropriately and meet USPS standards of readability. Whenever possible, and depending on the requirements, we will deploy either state-of-the-art high-speed ink jet, laser equipment to print the address, and any other basic personalized information.

Packaging:  Large pieces of mail and those with irregular shapes need to be rubber-banded together into “bundles” then placed in mail sacks. Smaller, letter-size mail, is placed in covered trays.  Each tray or sack consists of mail that will go to a specific sorting facility and must be labeled using a very specific format. Sacks are tied with cord and trays are tightly strapped closed. The sacks or trays for individual jobs are coded accordingly.

Documentation:  Each mailing is accounted for using an appropriate USPS form, collectively referred to as a postage statement. The piece weight, number of pieces and address destinations are all used to calculate the postage amount.

Delivery to the Post Office:  Mailings are taken to our local Boca Raton, or Delray Beach post office for extra discounts, or we can drop ship the mailing to a post office your choosing.

On Demand Digital Fulfillment:

On Demand Digital Fulfillment is ideal if a company wishes to mail smaller quantities, test different formats, styles, creative, or conduct personalized one to one, events driven campaigns and notifications.  All the same printing formats available for off-set printing are also available for On-Demand Digital Fulfillment.

On Demand Digital fulfillment enables us to dynamically print, address, sort and fulfill the mail pieces with personalized offers and content at the time the list is provided for addressing and fulfillment.  Each mail piece can be unique and personal to the recipient.  On Demand costs more per piece, requires up front programming costs, but has minimal upfront printing costs, and can be modified mid-stream; hence, it is ideal for split stream A/B testing, small runs, and subscriptions.

On Demand fulfillment is usually utilized for ongoing subscriptions, letter series, lead incubation, or other types of mailing program that requires moderate to high levels of personalization.  The mail piece, or pieces (we call them templates) are designed using our creative team and stored as digital templates in our servers.  Additionally, these templates are linked with content and images that, based on rules

and attributes in the data, will be merged into the template at the time of fulfillment producing a dynamically generated and personalized mail piece.

The full job is then printed at the time of the mailing on the selected stock.

On Demand Digital Fulfilment Process:

  • Other Transactional Lists to support content are developed such as office, or agent lists with individual information, images and corresponding key codes matching relational information to the mailing list.
  • A digital template of the mail piece is created and approved. The template is the final mail piece containing areas of static content (Content that does not change) and areas where the content is variable and is inserted (Content changes based on personal attributes and scoring).   The template is programmed, approved and stored digitally to be called up for fulfillment.
  • Content and Merge Programming. Programming is done to build the content pool, and to merge that content with the digital template.  This programming uses the mailing and transactional list attributes, matching key codes and scoring in order to produce personalized relevant mail pieces at the time of fulfillment.  All programming and content are reviewed, tested and approved.
  • The mailing list is imported using a consistent format and programmatically updated to include key codes and other scored attributes.
  • The mailing list is put through service bureau for NCOA, hygiene, CASS certification, presorted and stored for On Demand fulfillment deployment.
  • On Demand process is run (Mail Merge). Template is chosen and process is run.  Behind the scenes the merge program relates the mailing file (already prepped and sorted) and any linked transactional files with the content pool* and merges the appropriate content and transaction information, based on key codes and scoring, to the template producing a personalized mail piece for each recipient.
  • The print job is output sorted for optimal postage.

*Note: The Content pool, is another table pre-programmed with correlating personalized content, i.e.: name, images, agent info, photo, offer code, coupon, office information, etc.
